About

Who We Are

The Center for Children’s Books (CCB) at the School of Information Sciences is a crossroads for critical inquiry, professional training, and educational outreach related to youth-focused resources, literature, and librarianship. For 75 years, the Center for Children’s Books has been an advocate for youth literature and librarianship through a commitment to book evaluation, research, and education.

What We Do

The CCB houses a non-circulating research collection of children’s and young adult books. Our emphasis is on children’s books published within the last year and a small reference collection, and older books are being added to the Social Sciences, Health, and Education Library (SSHEL) collection in the Main Library.

Staff, students, and researchers are welcome to visit the CCB to read the books in our collection, host a class, and engage with other community members interested in youth literature and librarianship!
